Madeleine

Like its pastry namesake, Madeleine is a sweet treat that never fails to delight. This compact headless archtop guitar packs a lot of flavour in a small package.

Designed to straddle the line between an acoustic archtop and a chambered electric, Madeleine has a naturally quiet acoustic voice. The single-coil neck pickup is not the only tone source- under the soundboard are two passive piezo transducers which run to the ring terminal of the stereo output jack. By using a stereo cable one can control and add the desired level of acoustic presence to the tone.

The top is fully carved from a thick billet of Canadian white spruce, mated to a hollow body blank and matching neck of black cherry. Dark and mysterious ziricote is used for the rest, including the multiscale fretboard, bridge, and even control knobs.

Perhaps the most unique and innovative aspect of Madeleine are the bridge and tuners, designed in-house and made of 3-d printed stainless steel. The tuners incorporate my unique lock-wrap system, so the player can use regular ball-end strings without the need of heavy metal hardware at the end of the neck.
