Jolene

An ambitious project that fulfills a variety of musical needs, it’s going to be hard for me to say goodbye to Jolene.
Inspired by my Mokugyo slit-drum concept, Jolene takes it to the next level with an ergonomic body of gorgeous auburn Black Walnut. The matching neck has a unique ergonomic asymmetrical profile, and is glued in utilizing a robust floating-spline joint.
Those splines, the fretboard and soundhole edging are of luxurious Brazilian Tulipwood, a true rosewood with a blushing pink colour. Even the pickups themselves are made using tulipwood bobbins in a stacked humbucker setup.
Besides the master volume and tone knobs, a four-way pickup selector allows access to a single-coil sound in the bridge position, while a kill switch hides inobrusively nearby. And finally, that hollow body contains a pair of contact transducers so the resonance can be amplified or processed.
